Venture Capital Analyst
Saurabh’s role involves evaluating investment opportunities of various early-stage smart tech start-ups (Seed to Series A). Deep knowledge of ICT, Fintech, and AI sectors. He worked as a Senior Analyst in the global investment firm BNY Mellon, this has equipped him with excellent analytical abilities to understand financial markets and diverse technologies used in financial institutions. Before joining the DBIC Ventures team he worked as an Investment Research Analyst at HBAN. He has experience in implementing ML algorithms to automate, optimize business processes, and forecast the issues that would be raised in the project by users. This helped management to reduce risks involved in the business by enhancing data visibility and facilitating better business decisions.
Saurabh holds a 1st class honours degree in Electronics Engineering with specialization in Signal Processing & Wireless Communication and a 1st class MSc degree in Quantitative Finance from UCD Smurfit Business School and Yale School of Management.
Portfolio Manager
Alex is the Funds Portfolio Manager for the AIB Seed Capital Fund. Advised, managed Dublin BIC’s strategic expansion into emerging seed fund market in Ireland.
Managed and expanded multi-disciplinary professional seed fund team, led the implementation of investment strategy, deal flow, evaluation, term sheet valuations, investment recommendations/completions.
Represent Dublin BIC on AIB Seed Capital Fund Investment Committee dealing with all investment and divestment decisions for co-fund managers Dublin BIC and Enterprise Equity.
Led development of 40 company portfolio now well positioned to generate positive IRR for LPs.Managed investee aftercare programme, follow-on investments, investee exit positioning. Managed successful exits for Funds that included iCabbi, REDT, Jolt Online, Netsure Telecom, Demonware, Integral Payment Solutions, Zamano & Locumotion.
Alex is a board member and former Chairman of the Irish Venture Capital Association.
Alex holds a B’comm from UCD an MBA from NUIG, Galway and Corporate Finance and Strategic Marketing from the Irish Management Institue, Dublin.
Investment Manager
Eugene is a Investment Manager for Dublin BIC Managed Funds, including the €53m AIB Seed Capital Fund where he manages the fast-growth technology portfolio. He has been a retained management consultant in the venture capital industry for over 15 years and is a consultant on a variety of European Commission initiatives for cross-border investment and technology-led programmes in the creative and new media sectors. His specialist areas include telecoms, new media, ICT, eCommerce, games and emerging platform technologies.
Eugene has a Bsc Comp Sci, (Trinity College) and a BComm (UCD). He is a Member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland (MMII).
Investment Manager
Colm is an Investment Manager at DBIC Ventures. He has over 8 years’ experience in venture capital and private equity, investing in companies across Europe and North America. Colm has a passion for working with entrepreneurs and management teams to successfully grow and scale companies.
Previously Colm was a Ventures Principal at OGCI Climate Investments. Climate Investments is a $1B+ fund that invests in solutions to decarbonize the energy, industrial, and commercial transportation sectors. Prior to this Colm was an Associate at Pioneer Point Partners, a pan-European infrastructure private equity investor focussed on the energy and environment sectors. Colm started his investing career at Triple Point Investment Management, a specialist investment firm, where he focussed on early-stage investments primarily in the renewable energy sector.
Colm holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Finance from University College Cork and an MSc in Philosophy of the Social Sciences from the London School of Economics.
Managing Partner
Richard is Managing Partner of DBIC Ventures. He has over 20 years’ experience in venture capital, medical devices and semiconductors. Richard was Investment Manager with the AIB Seed Capital Fund from 2009 to 2017 and prior to this, Investment Manager with UK-based NorthStar Ventures.
Richard started out his career in the medical device industry in Sweden, as Development Engineer for a Swedish diagnostics company, which was acquired by Medtronic. Following this he was R&D Manager for a Stockholm-based drug delivery start-up, working on the design of inhalers and pen injectors for pharma customers. He went on to spend four years with Intel in operations & systems development and was closely involved in the scale-up of Fab 24, one of Intel’s main global fabs.
Richard has a 1st class honours degree in Electronic Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, a Research M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from Trinity College Dublin and a 1st class MBA from Durham University.

Michael is an internationally experienced business executive blending technical, sales, financial and entrepreneurial skills. Michael has an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Ireland and international best practice. He has assisted over 120+ companies attract over €60M in seed investment funding.
Michael holds a degree in Applied Physics & Electronics from NUIG and is a first-class MBA graduate of the UCD Smurfit School. He is a board member of the GEC (Guinness Enterprise Centre) and of EBAN (The European Business Angel Network). Michael’s strives to provide leadership to a world-class Dublin BIC team supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs.
